VALPO CHAMBER 2024 BUSINESS OPERATION PLAN
Board Chair – Nick Larson, Larson-Danielson Construction Co., Inc.
Responsibilities of the Board Chair include:
- Appoints all committees
- Presides at the Board of Directors meetings
- Works with the President on administrative matters for the organization
President – Rex G. Richards, Valpo Chamber
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Valpo Chamber including staff direction and supervision. The president recommends strategic direction and is the chief development officer regarding recruiting business and industry to the marketplace on behalf of the Chamber.
Vice-Chair of Public Policy – Tom Carroll, NITCO
The Public Policy area meets with local, state, and federal officials to discuss issues important to business. This area studies and recommends public policy positions which go to the Board of Directors for consideration as official positions taken by the Valpo Chamber. This area will host meeting during legislative session open to our members for dialogue with our elected state officials.
Vice-Chair of Economic Development – Nick Larson, Larson-Danielson Construction Co., Inc.
The Economic Development Division will work to increase higher paying jobs in the community by working with local and regional partnerships such as the Valparaiso Economic Development Corporation, NW Indiana Forum, and Workforce Innovations as well as the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the Indiana Development Association. This division works with existing industry and will make 20 visits to specific major employers to ascertain their plans for growth and expansion. This division will regularly work with the city and county officials to explain and assist on projects that will add assessed valuation and job creation to the area.
Chair Elect & Vice-Chair of Member Services – Matt Evans, RE/MAX Lifestyles
This division will host AM Valpo, four Network at Noon luncheons, six membership meeting split between four breakfasts and two luncheons. There will be four issues of the Valparaiso Magazine published as well as a membership directory which is used as a purchasing guide for businesses as citizens. A special resource guide will be published in the fall which can be helpful to citizen and newcomers.
Treasurer – Greg Gottschalk, Centier Bank
Oversees finances, the annual audit, finance committee, and overall monthly reports given to the Board of Directors showing activities relating to budget. This division works with the CFO and President relating to overall health of the financial integrity of the organization.
Vice-Chair of Major Events – Analisa Warring, REGIONAL federal credit union
This division will coordinate the Annual Meeting, Bowl-A-Rama, Salute to Leadership, Par-Tee, Annual FunDay, Community Improvement Awards as well as Chamber Network Night, and the Holiday Reception. These are all gatherings designed to give members opportunity to create new business relationships and create sales.
Vice-Chair Marketing – Stephanie Domazet, General Insurance Services
This area of the organization will assist the membership by expanding business opportunities through the partnership program, ribbon cuttings, business after hours, and the Ambassador Committee. Marketing is a key component that review data to better position the Chamber to growth opportunities which help expand business opportunities for our membership.
